THE TRUTH ABOUT EMPLOYMENT IN CORPORATE AMERICA
My Philosophy
- I am both Pro-employee/candidate AND Pro-employer/Corporate
- I am as objective and neutral as can be.
- I do not sugar coat. I tell it like it is.
- I share everything; truth, secrets, lies and myths. I tell it all.
- Throughout Corporate America's hiring process there are many dynamics and some phenomenon but hiring conspiracies and illegal practices are actually rare.

However, I'll share some facts Employers don't want you to know.
They do a great job of keeping this particular illusion and perception alive.
It's one of the main reasons for business failure.
Employers need you considerably more than you need them … much more.
All hiring managers fear lack of talent regardless of the unemployment rate, state of the economy and the ratio of talent pools to job openings. It's a huge concern because it's the main reason for business failure even when unemployment is high and candidates are plentiful.
Every Hiring Managers job is on the line when he or she has open positions to fill. In many companies, the Senior Executive Staff might have to answer to a Board of Directors or Investors who beat on them when positions are open for extended periods of time … and they often are.
Aging job requisitions ding their performance appraisals like a late bill payment will ding your credit report. No matter how stressed you are about landing a new job, Employers are more stressed and anxious about filling job openings than you could ever be. It's what keeps them up at night but they don't want you to know this.
I TEACH HOW TO USE THIS KNOWLEDGE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
They play the, "we have many candidates lined up and more candidates to talk to", card. The truth is at least 90% of the time they are bluffing. Several good qualified ready to go candidates lined up for the same job is NOT the norm and is actually quite uncommon in Corporate America. This is regardless of economic conditions, state of the economy and unemployment rate.
For every job opening the majority of candidates, both qualified and barely qualified, are rejected. We struggle to find good candidates and when we finally succeed in our search at finding the best, at some point during the interview process, most disconnect with the interviewers … even if they are highly qualified and perfectly attired.
"There was no chemistry"
It's one of the most common reasons management turns down candidates.
I heard this almost everyday. Most others can't teach you this because they don't know it.
If they didn't have my job, they don't have my experience. How can we teach what we don't know? Check out their background and credentials and if they are not available, ask yourself, Why? If perhaps they did perform in a similar role and we share experiences and responsibilities most don't know or care why some get hired and others don't. That's why the majority of candidates are really not prepared in the ways that really count. But that can change in a phone consultation session.
I teach "chemistry" and my methods work
Employers will not relax their standards even during boom times when jobs are plentiful. They may offer more money, extra time off and perks but they will not hire someone if they do not feel the chemistry, the connection. If you are highly qualified but do not connect with them they will not hire you. Even if you are only minimally qualified but you connect with them, you'll get a good job offer along with a good salary and compensation package. That is one reason why the most qualified does not always get the job offer.
I TEACH ALL ABOUT CONNECTING
Early in my career I couldn't figure out why I was rejected. Oh yes, most candidates research the company and they have their list of questions. They pre-determined some hard to answer questions and came up with the perfect answer. So, they're prepared, at least to some degree.
Many candidates are rejected simply because they disconnect with the interviewers. There are several ways they disconnect. That's why most candidates for every opening are rejected, not hired. More job seekers get rejected everyday then get hired.
The solutions are easy to put into practice. You can ace every interview utilizing these techniques. I've been using these techniques and ace every interview. So do the job seekers I've instructed.
Now, sometimes we have a great candidate but they withdraw their candidacy or accept another position. Although it is more common that the candidate really wants the job but does not get the offer. Most candidates disconnect in at least one of several ways … some more. All you need to do is disconnect in one way. In either case, most jobs remain open for quite some time … not good. In the meantime, what needs to get done, isn't … also not very good.
These are the main reasons why many Corporate Recruiters, especially Contract Recruiters, are well compensated. Hiring Management is highly dependent on the Staffing people. Most positions are open for months. Most positions are taken off the job ad boards because they ran out of advertising dollars. Advertising takes a big chunk out of the recruiting budget … a real big chunk. The job seeker assumes the position was filled. Eventually it does get filled. However, eventually usually takes months.
Illusion + Perception = Reality
Employers don't want you to know this information. One reason is because if you are aware of this it changes your attitude about the interview. If you don't know this then it alters the Employer/Interviewee - Candidate relationship allowing them more negotiating power while reducing yours. So, they don't want you to know how much they need you. I teach you how to make them want to hire you through knowledge and empowerment ... and without coming across as arrogant, uppity or smug.
In less than 5 minutes learn how to turn this around and use it to your advantage.
When we think we are in the back seat, we act accordingly. I can teach you the importance and how and when to think and act like you are in the driver's seat and then you will be in the driver's seat.
Corporate America would not want me to share this but …
They need you much more than you need them … every day.
The truth is, regardless of economic conditions, the unemployment rate and job availability, IF you follow my methods and techniques
YOU are ALWAYS in the catbird seat … ALWAYS.
